Welcome To The Decadent Abbey

from A Slenderman Musical by Paul Shapera

/

lyrics

Jordan:
A cup of tea made from a late nights spring kiss
not the worst thing youll drink and it gives a nice lift
Relax, a deep breath, it's a long way youve come
out the walls of the world to the vague lands beyond

Our plan went just perfetct, we’ve readied for years
to capture a slender man passing through here
and you were his prize, but youre safe with us, warm
in here the last post on reality's shore

Residents:
The decadent abbey
The last midnight comes and goes past
and the cracks in the ballroom appear

The decadent abbey
The fool with his thumb in the hole
as the dark waters rise and grow near

Jordan:
This way, its a maze i know, please follow me
There’s wings where there's things that you don't need to see
The thin man's quite scary perhaps you need, say,
a change of pants, you'd be far from the first, there's no shame

If not you must come we've prepared a great feast
you should meet and should greet since it’s doubtful youll leave
Samuel will speak, just relax, you'll adapt
though all those who come here eventually go mad

Residents:
The decadent abbey
The last midnight comes and goes past
and the cracks in the ballroom appear

The decadent abbey
The fool with his thumb in the hole
as the dark waters rise and grow near

Samuel:
For my mother, my sister and for you, Jordan
So much like them you are
to save you there's no length too far i'd go
cast your burdens to the wind
open up and let me in

Raise a glass at last our mad and addled scheme has come to pass
Our half cocked sad and desperate plan, the snare that snags the slender man
This abbeys stood and held the cracks some thousand years, and all've gone mad
Alas, a thankless fruitless task until at last we've stricken back

The leash that holds the vile and wiley smiley man
The render bender when he catch you ends you Slender Man
The bonds that bind the boogie man, well if they can
drink a round now lads the snare that snags the slender man

The teeth that creep and slowly seep inside the walls and crawls and reeks
and hunts, from wicked this way comes and takes those who once we've loved
In all the time this abbey's stood upon the walls of our fair world
and watch the things from outside come and only now we've snagged us one

The leash that holds the vile and wiley smiley man
The render bender when he catch you ends you Slender Man
The bonds that bind the boogie man, well if they can
drink a round now lads the snare that snags the slender man

Jordan:
the ugly things i feel
sometimes they're all i think is real
and Sam i know you want to help in spite of myself

Samuel:
My dear welcome here it's a pleasure

Zoe:
It’s a pleasure i guess

Samuel:
Our thanks to you all worked out quite for the best
The Order explained of your quest you'll need find
the Librarians who can explain all in time
i see you've met Jordan she can show you your room

Jordan:
I can show you your room

Zoe:
That’d be nice, you can come anytime that you choose

Jordan:
Anytime? day or night?

Zoe:
Day or night. Although night has a nice charm…

Jordan:
Arent you the cheeky one

Samuel:
Excuse me now time for a toast, drink on up

Residents:
The decadent abbey
The last midnight comes and goes past
and the cracks in the ballroom appear

The decadent abbey
The fool with his thumb in the hole
as the dark waters rise and grow near

about

Paul Shapera Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Cama’s attempt to commune with higher beings failed; she only found Decadent Dottie. Together they roamed, indulging in dangerous forms of psycho-neural self-exploration which Cama hoped would present the key to her people’s further evolution. It only led to her destroying her people so that one of their pets could evolve. She sat in her former civilization's rubble and listened to Paul Shapera. ... more
