Chilling At The Motel 6

from A Slenderman Musical by Paul Shapera

/

lyrics

Timothy:
And so most nights she stops by
the Motel 6 where i'm holed up
we sit out front in two plastic chairs
that face the parking lot

the nights pass kind of pleasant
we drink some beer and smoke a pack
we talk bout where the hunted go
and when the run runs out at last

I lost my way to El Dorado
The winds my will has weathered down
I sometimes think that on the dusty road to nowhere
I’ll sit and sigh and lay my body down

I lost my way to El Dorado
The golden future where i belonged
Is there a moment, a day a week you know that
The destination you once dreamed is gone?

RGC:
The long road lays out til you're empty
The long road lays you to the ground
Don't you lay, don't you lay yourself to memory
Don't you lay your spirit down

Zoe:
I lost my way to El Dorado
I wandered dazed as in a dream
The bodies piled and the trials stained the miles
on a mpa it turns out i could never read

I lost my way to El Dorado
The girl once with me has collapsed
The ties that kept her all together are in tethers
and in the end she was all i ever had

RGC:
The long road lays out til you're empty
The long road lays you to the ground
Don't you lay, don't you lay yourself to memory
Don't you lay Don't you lay your spirit down

Timothy:
I lost my way to El Dorado
The wind just blows across my back
Like a shadow cast that only seeks its body back
But as the miles grow more and more
I cannot picture any more
the warm sweet place for which i long
to ease my soul where i belong
the hope of home where all roads lead
i lost my way and now it's gone to me
that promised land in which i once believed

The plans of mice and men
fool’s gold bravado
I lost my way to El Dorado

RGC:
The long road lays out til you're empty
The long road lays you to the ground
Don't you lay, don't you lay yourself to memory
Don't you lay Don't you lay your spirit down

(Sounds of the Slenderman’s approach begin)

Timothy:
Uh oh…. Get out. Get out! We have to go now. Zoe! Come with me! Just come, we have to go NOW.

Zoe:
Are you breaking into a car?

Timothy:
Just get in. Trust me, we have to go.

Cama’s attempt to commune with higher beings failed; she only found Decadent Dottie. Together they roamed, indulging in dangerous forms of psycho-neural self-exploration which Cama hoped would present the key to her people’s further evolution. It only led to her destroying her people so that one of their pets could evolve. She sat in her former civilization's rubble and listened to Paul Shapera. ... more
